Please follow the Adventure Travel Mentor Directory guidelines
below to give your article the best chance to get clicked on.
If you have any questions, or need clarification, I invite
you to
contact
me by email.
This is a different kind of directory
The purpose of this directory is to connect adventure travelers with
mentors who can help them with the kind of adventures
they seek. That's why we use an article format.
Just listing your basic business information (like other directories)
doesn't impress a reader, but if you demonstrate your knowledge in the
form of a helpful and informative article you will create a connection
with the reader, and they'll be more likely to contact you.
Mentors can be anyone with relevant expertise... tourism offices, travel
agents, local tour operators, travel companies and other professionals.
Individuals (non-professionals) with adventure travel expertise can submit their
contributions via the forms on individual Web pages where available, or
contact me by email about submitting an article.
Your submission should be in the form of an article. We
can put a comprehensive attribution at the bottom with a live link
to your Web site along with your bio and promotional points. But, remember, this is an article, not an advertisement.
Your submission doesn’t have to be long (a minimum of 450 words), it just needs to be informative and useful to the reader.
You can write up to 1,200 words. After your article feel free to include
a detailed attribution (professional bio) to let the reader know why
you’re an expert on your subject matter.
Please don't include HTML coding. The system
automatically strips out all HTML, and I have no control over that.
However, I will add in a hyperlink to your Web site manually if you
include it in your attribution.
Chances are
you’ve got information you can pull from articles you've written in the
past, existing brochures, your Web
site or other promotional material that you can tweak slightly and
upload with a few pictures, so this will be quick and easy for you.
Suggest keywords that might be a good fit for this article
If
you give your email address, and ask to be notified, you will get an
automatic email letting you know the URL for your Web page when it’s
uploaded online. Your email address will be protected and not used for
other purposes.
Make your page more popular and improve its SEO by
linking to it from your Web site and have your clients post testimonials
in the comments section.
You can make multiple submissions. If you
have expertise regarding different destinations or activities you can
make a submission for each. For instance, if you can offer expertise
about different destinations (regional, by country or a specific place
within a country) or different adventures (sea kayaking, trekking, white
water rafting, etc.) then feel free to make a submission for each. That
will improve your chances of connecting with potential clients.
Here are some examples of headlines for the kinds of information you
should be looking to provide. And don’t worry, I can help out with the
headline when I edit your submission.
